Barstool Sportsbook at The Hollywood Casino Columbus

OVERVIEW

Penn Entertainment, owner of the Hollywood-branded gaming properties and parent company of sports media giant Barstool, engaged Lehman Daman for the construction of the new Barstool Sportsbook, located inside Hollywood Casino Columbus.

CHALLENGES

Penn Entertainment needed this project complete in time for a planned grand opening event for Superbowl weekend. To meet the timeline, L/D began the procurement process early for long-lead items, specifically for thin brick and kitchen and bar equipment. L/D managed to directly communicate with the kitchen manufacturer to understand lead times and ensure the order arrived on time for installation.

Additionally, L/D needed to preserve the casino’s operations during construction - a challenging task, especially given the concrete scope of the project. L/D carefully worked with Hollywood Casino Columbus to coordinate logistics for the delivery and pouring of over 60 yards of concrete. Also, L/D laid hundreds of feet of plywood and plastic covers to protect the casino floors during delivery.
