Fairfield Healthcare Professionals Gastroenterology

OVERVIEW

Owned and operated by Fairfield Medical Center, Fairfield Healthcare Professionals (FHP) offers healthcare services for a multitude of specialties, including gastroenterology. In need of more space to treat patients, FHP Gastroenterology found an aged, vacant building near Fairfield Medical Center to relocate their operations to. FHP Gastroenterology hired Lehman Daman to complete the renovation.

CHALLENGES

Lehman Daman uncovered a serious underlying issue with the existing HVAC system that rendered the current building unsafe. The insulation material used for the air ducts contained asbestos, which can cause severe health issues if disturbed. Prior to beginning any work, L/D communicated openly with FHP to help them understand the issue and connected them with an asbestos contractor to handle the abatement.

Additionally, FHP faced a long lead time for the main power distribution panel. L/D used a temporary power distribution panel to keep the project moving forward, enabling FHP to get their temporary Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) on time. Once the main power distribution panel arrived, L/D worked around FHP, and the project was completed as designed.
