Grandview Heights Public Library

OVERVIEW

Seeking to enhance the library experience for residents, Grandview Heights Public Library (GHPL) aimed to create a dedicated space for community events. Lehman Daman was engaged to complete a series of site improvements, including an outdoor pavilion, a permanent exterior drive-thru, enhanced traffic flow and parking, and pedestrian accessibility and walkways.

CHALLENGES

The construction site was adjacent to a middle school and GHPL’s outdoor area was a popular gathering space for students. To ensure their safety, L/D set up temporary barricades and fencing to secure the jobsite from the public. Signage was prominently displayed to inform pedestrians of construction activities.

Additionally, the project’s timeline was critical as GHPL needed this project to be completed in time to kick off the 38th annual Music on the Lawn summer concert series and celebrate its 100th birthday. L/D completed the project on time and on budget, giving Grandview Heights residents a revitalized outdoor space for community activities.
