OVERVIEW

Rudolph Foods needed more cold storage at their existing plant. Lehman Daman built a ground-up, cold-storage expansion while working around their operations.

CHALLENGES

Working in an operational plant required detailed coordination and communication between L/D and Rudolph Foods. Adherence to schedules and off-hours work kept disruptions to a minimum.

 The most difficult component of expanding their cold storage without impeding operations was ensuring continuous electrical service. L/D had to demo a freezer for the expansion, which housed the entire plant’s electric service. L/D first built a small electric room to run the entire plant before demoing and starting the expansion. Careful sequencing and execution of this component made the project a success.
