Pickle with Purpose Raises over $33,000 to Support Local Families and Neighborhoods

Competition. Camaraderie. Community. Purpose.

Those four words captured the spirit of Lehman Daman’s Pickle with Purpose event, where our community came together for an afternoon of pickleball and raised over $33,000 to support Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Healthy Neighborhoods, Healthy Families (HNHF) initiative.

Players of all skill levels took to the courts for exciting matches, friendly competition, and plenty of laughs. While winners were crowned, the most meaningful accomplishment was what attendees and sponsors made possible together: support for safe, stable housing for local families.

Supporting Healthier Communities Through Home Repair

One of the highlights of the event was hearing from Lupita, Senior Engagement and Home Repair Manager, who shared more about HNHF’s mission and the impact its programs have on local families.

Her message reinforced that creating healthier communities goes beyond healthcare. It starts with safe, stable housing and strong neighborhoods where families can thrive.

Funds raised through Pickle with Purpose support HNHF’s South Side Home Repair program, which provides free exterior home repairs to residents in the South Side and Linden communities. The program addresses repairs related to safety, health, accessibility, and code enforcement violations, helping families maintain their homes and supporting stronger neighborhoods.
