Del-Co-Water-Company

Project Overview
Del-Co Water Company was looking to expand their Olentangy campus. Needing a place to house their growing team and provide a place for training, Del-Co contracted Lehman Daman to build The Wolf Water Center, a new two-story ground-up building.
This new complex features offices for their engineering and distribution departments, five-pull through equipment bays with integrated storage, and a 250-person training room.

Project Challenges
The new building is situated in the center of Del-Co’s operations. With tight site logistics and a heavily trafficked main road to the south, alternative routes were developed around the construction zone to minimize disruption and keep everyone safe.
Adding to the challenge, high voltage transmission lines ran through the site. Lehman Daman coordinated with American Electric Power (AEP) to ensure proper safety clearance throughout the project. Much of the work required use of a 50-ton crane which posed a significant safety challenge lifting materials alongside these power lines.
While laying the foundation for the garage, L/D discovered that the garage was designed 10-feet too small for the client’s needs. Lehman Daman coordinated with the design team to rework the size of the foundation elements and reestablish appropriate load combinations. Additionally, L/D assisted with MEP design changes.
Lehman Daman delivered this project on time and on budget, enabling Del-Co to continue growing their team to better serve customers.
